The Kia EV6 Wins 2023 North American
Utility Vehicle of the Year™

The Kia EV6 has been awarded 2023 North American Car, Truck and Utility Vehicle of the Year™ (NACTOY), receiving top recognition in one of the most competitive automotive markets in the world.
The award was announced on January 11 (local time) at the 2023 NACTOY Awards ceremony held at M1 Concourse in Pontiac, Michigan.
This marks Kia’s second win in three years, following the Telluride’s win in 2020. It is also Kia’s first EV to be awarded.
Design, Performance, and
Value Combined

The NACTOY jury praised the EV6 for its striking design, impressive performance in the GT model, long-driving range, competitive pricing, and advanced convenience features. Jurors highlighted Kia’s ability to deliver luxury-brand levels of design and technology at an accessible price point.
In the final round of the intense competition, the EV6 secured the ultimate honor, outperforming strong contenders such as the Genesis GV60 and Cadillac Lyriq.
A Global Award-Winning EV

With this latest recognition, the EV6 has now captured two of the world’s most prestigious automotive awards — 2023 North American Utility Vehicle of the Year™ and 2022 European Car of the Year. Its success reflects Kia’s vision of bold design and advanced EV technology.
The vehicle especially stands out for its spacious interior, Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality, and ultra-fast 800V charging capability. This practical feature allows its battery to be recharged from 10% to 80% in 18 minutes, enabling up to 528km of driving range (WLTP standard) on a single charge.
North American Car of the Year Awards
Established in 1994, the North American Car, Truck, and Utility Vehicle of the Year™ Awards are regarded as the Oscars of the automotive world. Initially recognizing only cars and trucks, the awards expanded to include the utility category in 2017. Each year, a jury of 50 independent automotive journalists from across the United States and Canada selects the winners based on innovation, design, safety, performance, and overall value.
