On January 4th, the Kia EV9 was recognized as the 2024 North American Car, Truck, and Utility Vehicle of the Year™, in the Utility Vehicle category, establishing itself as the top SUV in the North American market.
This achievement highlights the EV9's recognition for both its innovation as an electric vehicle (EV) and its outstanding design in the world’s largest automotive market.

John Voelcker, an automotive journalist and one of the judges, lauded the EV9 for its groundbreaking approach to electric vehicles, saying, “It opens new territory for EVs, and its looks draw attention well before anyone finds out it’s electric.”

What’s particularly noteworthy is that the EV9 follows last year's award for the EV6 in the same category, marking an impressive consecutive win.
Over the past five years, Kia has secured the title of North American Car, Truck, and Utility Vehicle of the Year™ for three models: the Telluride in 2020, the EV6 in 2023, and now the EV9 in 2024, reinforcing Kia as a global leader in SUVs.
