Beyond the Vehicle, Towards Possibility
Beyond the Vehicle, Towards Possibility

Kia’s PBV (Platform Beyond Vehicle) is not just a means of getting from one place to another. It is a transformative mobility platform that redefines how we live and the spaces we inhabit. With customizable interiors and flexible layouts, the vehicle becomes a living room, an office, or a creative studio.
As our lives shift, connect, and evolve in unprecedented ways, Kia PBV stands at the center of this change by offering personalized mobile spaces that move with you.
The world is changing rapidly. Amid digital transformation, the rise of e-commerce, and shifting ways of working and living, people are seeking mobility that truly fits their lives—yet today’s market has not fully met those expectations. Kia sees this transition as an opportunity and has listened more closely to the real voices of its customers.
Kia set out to create a new mobility solution—one that offers greater spatial flexibility, smarter connectivity, and easier customization to suit diverse business environments and purposes. This vision marked the beginning of Kia’s PBV.
Going further, Kia aims to build a new infrastructure that connects businesses, cities, and everyday life. From electrification and connectivity to software technologies and innovative production methods for customized vehicles, Kia is shaping a new standard of mobility through PBV.

The Kia PV5 is built on E-GMP.S—Hyundai Motor Group’s first platform developed exclusively for PBV. By combining the proven technological strengths of the E-GMP electric vehicle platform with the specific needs of PBV customers, it delivers generous space, optimized performance, and the versatility to address a wide range of mobility demands.
Developed around a skateboard platform concept, E-GMP.S supports multiple upper body types on a single base. Its modular structure across the front, center, and rear enables the vehicle body to be freely reconfigured. This flexibility allows the PV5 to expand into diverse variants—including Light Camper, Prime, Open Bed, and Refrigerated Box Truck—evolving into a mobility solution with limitless possibilities across leisure and logistics.

The Kia PV5’s Flexible Body System allows modular body components to be freely combined, enabling vehicle forms and functions to be realized quickly and efficiently. The first row is designed as a shared, common structure across all models, while elements such as the roof, sliding doors, and tailgate can be reconfigured as needed—much like assembling a puzzle.
This approach significantly reduces development time and cost while delivering high-quality craftsmanship and multi-variant, customized production. Through this innovation, the PV5 meets a wide range of customer needs and sets a new standard for future-oriented vehicle body design.
Going further, PBV will expand beyond an individual vehicle into a thriving PBV ecosystem where diverse technologies and services are seamlessly connected. From future technologies such as autonomous driving, robotics, and Advanced Air Mobility to PBV Conversion Partners, third-party solutions, and app-based services, all elements are integrated around PBV—evolving into a flexible mobility platform that powers smart cities.
Through PBV, Kia envisions cities that are more sustainable and seamlessly connected. A transformation that begins with a single vehicle reshapes entire cities—and ultimately transforms the way we live.
