The Kia EV9 Wins ‘World Car of the Year’
and ‘World Electric Vehicle’ Awards

On March 27th, at the ‘World Car Awards’ held during the New York International Auto Show, the EV9 triumphed in two prestigious categories: ‘2024 World Car of the Year’ and ‘2024 World Electric Vehicle’. This follows on from Kia’s EV6 scooping up the ‘2023 Performance Car’ at the previous year’s event, marking another milestone for Kia’s EV lineup.

The ‘World Car of the Year’ is determined by an international jury of over 100 members who assess nominated vehicles across multiple categories, including occupant environment, performance, value, safety, environment, market significance, emotional appeal, and innovation. The EV9 was highly rated in all aspects but especially excelled in occupant environment, performance, and innovation, scoring higher than its competitors and securing the dual crown of ‘World Car of the Year’.
