The Kia EV9:
Honored with the 2024 WWCOTY Award
for Redefining Electric SUVs

The Kia EV9, Kia’s flagship electric SUV, has been named the 2024 Women’s World Car of the Year (WWCOTY), solidifying its status as a transformative force in the automotive industry.

Recognized for its forward-thinking design, outstanding functionality, and commitment to sustainability, the EV9 is reshaping the future of electric mobility.

To celebrate this global accolade, three distinguished jurors, from a panel of more than 70 seasoned female motoring journalists, shared their impressions of the EV9’s winning attributes. They commended its spacious and versatile three-row seating, which effortlessly bridges the gap between practicality and comfort. The EV9 also stood out for its bold futuristic design, cutting-edge technology, and the thoughtful use of eco-friendly materials—exemplifying Kia’s innovative approach to delivering premium quality while championing a more sustainable future.

“It’s designed almost like your own living room,” Sherren Shabnam, UAE juror, pinpoints in terms of what sets the EV9 apart. “I think the ultra-fast charging mode of the EV9 is a huge plus. The fact that you can charge 80% of the car in 24 minutes – now that is a game changer.”

Such recognition underscores the EV9’s pivotal role in advancing electric mobility. With its pioneering design, state-of-the-art features, and sustainable engineering, the EV9 offers a bold glimpse into the future of electrification.

WWCOTY is an international organization of women automotive journalists, with a jury of 82 professionals from 55 countries. The awards evaluate vehicles based on design, safety, efficiency and innovation, among other criteria created by New Zealand motoring journalist Sandy Myhre in 2009.
