Fair Trade Compliance Program (Fair Trade CP)

Since 2002, Kia has been operating ’Fair Trade Compliance Program (Fair Trade CP)’ and continues to strive for establishing and implementing fair trade culture with active support from top management. We operate an in-house Compliance Council chaired by the Compliance Officer appointed by the highest decision-making body to prevent legal violations in advance. The Council regularly reports to the board of directors on compliance status and performance identified through internal monitoring. For executives and employees, we share internal and external fair trade issues through on-line and off-line training to build company-wide consensus on transparent management. We strengthen our internal monitoring system by distributing fair trade-related newsletters, guidelines, and checklists to working-level departments under the Compliance Council, and conducting regular inspections, while simultaneously encouraging executives and employees’ voluntary commitment to fair trade practices. For all transactions with suppliers, we have introduced competitive bidding principles to provide fair opportunities. For competitors, we have codified fair trade principles including prohibition of unfair trade practices, collusion, and unfair competition, which are published on official Kia website. Going forward, Kia will continue to fulfill its corporate social responsibility in fair trade by making sustained efforts to establish fair competitive order and transparent business practices.

Compliance with fair
trade laws and
regulations is not a
choice, but a
necessity

Dear Colleagues,In 2025, despite growing internal and external uncertainties, we responded proactively to rapid changes in the market and achieved the highest sales and the largest revenue in our company’s history. In addition, through our commitment to fair competition and mutually beneficial transactions with our partners, we successfully achieved AA ratings for two consecutive years (2024 and 2025) in the Compliance Program Evaluation administered by the Korea Fair Trade Commission. Our sustainable growth and innovation have been built on a foundation of fair competition. Fair competition drives innovation, strengthens customer trust, and enables sustainable growth. 2025 was the year we reaffirmed this core belief. In 2026, we aim to carry forward our current growth momentum as a Sustainable Mobility Solutions Provider. This goal can only be achieved through a comprehensive lineup of eco-friendly vehicles, leadership in autonomous driving and SDV transformation, robotics-enabled manufacturing innovation, and the collective commitment of all employees to fair trade compliance. In this context, I would like to ask all of you to keep the following three points in mind.

  • 1

Business objectives should support fair trade compliance and strictly adhere to all fair trade laws and regulations relevant to their roles and responsibilities.

  • 2

It is important to consistently follow our internal procedures designed to promote fair dealings with our partners and to thoroughly understand the Fair Trade Compliance Guidelines.

  • 3

Active participation in fair trade compliance training programs and the Fair Trade Compliance Week is strongly encouraged.

In addition, members of the Compliance Council and our Compliance Managers are expected to play a key role in fostering a culture of compliance by encouraging employees to actively practice fair trade principles and by promoting awareness of the company’s fair trade compliance program.I am fully committed to leading by example in actively implementing the fair trade compliance program to advance compliance-based management and create value for our customers and society as a whole.
